Using co-production to improve the appropriate use of sub-seasonal forecasts in Africa, by Patricia Nying’uro

May 13, 2026 @ 16h00 – 17h30 CET

In this online seminar series, we explore how feminist perspectives can inform our understanding of climate change, focusing on themes such as values, trust, uncertainty, injustice, diversity, and emotions.

In this sixth session, we are delighted to welcome Patricia Nying’uro (University of Nairobi) as our guest. We will discuss her co-authored paper “Using co-production to improve the appropriate use of sub-seasonal forecasts in Africa” (2021), which examines how the African SWIFT forecasting testbed uses real-time, user-guided co-production to create more effective sub-seasonal to seasonal forecasts and to build sustainable capacity for decision-relevant climate information.
